KirriCorp itself originally came into being as the fictional distributor of Duel Masters Trading Card game within the Fan Fiction associated with the game, and now, this site. Later, as a concept, it came to represent the source of the fictional errata applied to certain Duel Masters cards, and, indirectly, the source of the research supporting these errata.

From the period of around December 2007 to February 2008, KirriCorp operated as an unofficial subsection within the Duel Masters site DuelZone.org. Finally, in February 2008, due to general dissent and conflict between the goals of KirriCorp (which by then had approximately reached a similar level of organizational status), and the veterans of DuelZone, KirriCorp broke away from DuelZone altogether. In March 2008, the offending Fan Fiction was removed from the DuelZone.org forums, and its author let it vanish for a time.

The end of February and most of March were spent developing a new home for KirriCorp, which, though different from the fictional, distributor role KirriCorp chain existent within the Fan Fiction,w as still becoming an organization in itself. The KirriCorp forums were available to members and staff during the development period, and officially opened on June 5th 2008.
