Chapter 4 - The NightClash

The planet now erupted into a full-scale war, as the Lords began their movement. The great power of the Flight Elementals now descended into battle, assisted by the Sonic Guardians in reaching the battlefield, and the Supporting Tulips, which augmented their power to such heights that they could easily strike down even the Ultracide Worms. In response, the Demon Commands called upon another of their own as well, the Lord of the Wastes, in whose presence all but the greatest of Light's forces fall and are devoured. Worse yet, the Fire Realm sent new forces to equal the support of the Tulips. Chaotic Skyterrors. The forces of Light and Nature still found themselves restricted to superiority in battle to achieve victory, as the Water Civilization covertly helped both sides with teleportation power, and the skilful resource management of Aquan and his student Marinomancers.

It was then that true evolution took its course. The battles brought out the power of the Elementals, until finally, in a desperate battle against spellweaving Ghosts, the Lord of Spirits, Alcadeias, appeared. The Light suppressed the magical heat and flames and deadly smoke. In fact, it suppressed all magic save that of shimmering light, leaving the forces of darkness with no counter to the flashes of stunning light that allowed the Elementals and their followers to drive the forces of Darkness back. All seemed lost for the Dark forces, but finally, cornered deep in the woods, the last of his group, a lone Demon Commander achieved enlightenment, if such a word could be used for such a creature. Anything whatsoever that was alive, could be killed. That is exactly what he did...

In response to the Lord of Spirits, the Lord of Demons, the Master of Death, the great destroyer, Ballom, appeared. Ignoring the cries of his living allies, Ballom's dark power in that moment slew every living thing, leaving only the creatures of Darkness still 'alive'. The bigger problem, was Ballom's immense strength in battle, beyond nearly any single creature in the armies of Light or Nature, and even rivaling them when they worked together.

Far away, on the shores of the Fire realm, the Water Civilization's offensive had begun to suffer a few setbacks also, due to the tenacity of Fire's warriors, and their relentless will to fight, wielding extreme power. The great Dragons had become aware of the threat, and were now on the move, forcing the Cyber Lords to deploy the Earth Eaters just to defend their supply lines from unexpected dragon attack. These unexpected setbacks forced them to restructure their assault plans, and it could easily become dangerous to accept open offense support from the darkness, though there was occasionally some support provided by the light in exchange for technological assistance. The great battles raged on, more power and energy breaking the crust of the planet, until finally, it seemed that it could take no more, and a titanic thunderclap rocked the planet itself off its axis...
